Hasebe Takeshi

The mayor of Shibuya

Born in 1972/3 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku. After retiring from Hakuhodo Co., Ltd., he established the NPO corporation Greenbird and developed activities to clean up the city. Starting with Harajuku and Omotesando, promotion activities related to garbage disposal have been carried out at over 60 locations nationwide. He was first elected as the Shibuya district council in 2003 and served for 3 terms and 12 years. He took office as the mayor of Shibuya in 2015 (currently in his 3rd term).
