He is involved in internal medicine treatment specializing in leukemia at Kyushu University Hospital. A leukemia research team was established at RIKEN in 2006 with the aim of curing intractable blood cancer. He has been a senior editor of the American Cancer Society since 2016, and has also served as a pathology course at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (now Science Tokyo) from 2023. International collaboration on leukemia treatment began in earnest with Anthony Letai (Harvard), Brian Hubbard, etc. in Boston. He advocates “transcending fields and connecting generations,” and serves as Visionary Initiative Program Director at Science Tokyo and Trip Business Deputy General Manager at RIKEN.
