After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he completed a master’s degree at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy. He began his career at McKinsey & Company (Japan and Vietnam), where he engaged in consulting for the financial, consumer goods, and private equity industries. He then founded a Japan-focused fashion e-commerce startup in China. Subsequently, he joined Orbis Investment, where he helped launch online asset management businesses in the UK and Japan. Since 2014, he has been with DCM Ventures, where, as a Partner, he has led investments in fintech, B2C/C2C marketplaces, and the sharing economy. In January 2025, he became Co-founder and General Partner of Coreline Ventures.
