Since getting his career start at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Dr Yoshiaki ISHII has shaped his experience almost exclusively around supporting startups and enhancing innovation. Now, he is the counselor of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and director general of the SME Support Japan. He has demonstrated expertise in Startup Policy and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) policy, Industrial Organization, and Innovation Policy. Dr Ishii earned his PhD from Waseda University, in 2012.
