I studied aerospace engineering at Hokkaido University and began balloon research during my studies. In 2016, I captured images of Earth and space from the stratosphere using a self-made balloon. After commercializing the technology, I founded Iwaya Inc. in 2016. Since 2020, I have been developing a balloon-based system that allows people to travel and view space with their own eyes. In 2024, we succeeded in a manned Near Space Flight, reaching 20 km altitude with a pressurized cabin. The test pilot saw the blue Earth below and the blackness of space above. Our Near Space Flight service is now approaching launch.
