Born in Ishikawa, Japan in 1961, he started his entrepreneurial life at the age of 19 as a street vendor selling accessories. In 1985, he opened a video rental store. In 1999, he founded DMM.com. Currently, as chairman of the DMM Group, he is involved in more than 60 businesses, including video distribution, animation production, online games, English conversation school, FX, stocks, 3D printers, and managing a soccer team in Belgium.
