
Shuichiro began his career in 1989 at The Industrial Bank of Japan, where he worked as an analyst in the Industrial Research Department, focusing on the electric power and energy sectors. In 2000, he moved to IBJ Securities (now Mizuho Securities), specializing in corporate finance for companies in the environmental and energy fields. In 2003, Shuichiro launched his own consulting practice, advising Japanese energy and environmental companies on management strategies. In 2006, he founded Energy & Environment Investment, Inc., Japan’s first VC firm dedicated to environment and energy. The fund's total assets under management amounted approximately ¥68 billion, with investments made in around 170 companies (as of June 2025). He holds a law degree from the University of Tokyo and a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University.
