He joined the Japan Tobacco and Salt Public Corporation (now Japan Tobacco Inc. or JT) in 1983. After serving as a Senior Vice President, Food Business and as a Member of the Board, Executive Vice President, he was appointed Executive Vice President and Deputy CEO of JT International S.A. in 2011. Subsequently, he held positions including Senior Vice President, Representative Director and Executive Vice President, and Deputy Chairperson of the Board, before assuming his current role in 2022. Additionally, he has served as an Outside Director of TDK Corporation since 2021 and a Senior Vice Chairman Representative Director of the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives) since 2024, all of which are current positions.
