
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1979, spent his early years in New Mexico and Connecticut in the United States. After graduating from the Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science, Keio University in March 2002, he joined the Asahi Shimbun Company in April of the same year. He served in various roles, including the Miyazaki and Saga Bureaus, the Economic News Department, and the Media Lab. In July 2014, he served as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in the U.S., and in May 2016, he was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Japanese edition of The Huffington Post (now HuffPost). In 2021, he joined PIVOT as a founding member, and in November 2024, he will be appointed as a Special Executive Officer at TBS Television.
