Joined the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2004. Until now, he has been in charge of innovation policies for “space,” “environment,” and “disaster prevention.” He launched a “moonshot type research and development system” aiming for disruptive innovation with advanced technologies such as “quantum AI, robots, avatars,” etc., and is in charge of quantum policies, and is engaged in formulating the government's quantum strategy (quantum future society vision) aimed at strengthening industrial competitiveness. He has been in current position since 2023/8. Responsible for measures to promote industry-academia collaboration, starting with support for the creation of university startups.
