IHI began in 1853 with the shipbuilding business and has since evolved into a conglomerate with a diverse range of products, from large-scale plants and infrastructure to mass-produced models. This spring marks the third year since the launch of IHI Academy, which welcomed astronaut Soichi Noguchi as its director. In anticipation of future group management, the Academy is actively engaging in dialogue with executives and employees to define the desired qualities of future leaders and to oversee the discovery, development, and placement of potential candidates in an integrated manner.
