
He began his career at the Industrial Bank of Japan and studied at Stanford Graduate School of Business starting in 2001. Afterward, he spent 10 years as a Partner at the headquarters of DCM, a leading U.S. venture capital firm, where he focused on investing in and supporting IT ventures across Japan, the U.S., and China. In 2013, he founded WiL (World Innovation Lab) to promote open innovation by bridging large Japanese corporations and startups. In addition to contributing articles to publications such as the Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun, he continues to advocate for venture ecosystem development as a government advisor and member of expert committees.
