Secretariat of Science,Technology and Innovation Policy
After graduating from university, I joined a materials manufacturer, where I was involved in product development, manufacturing, and quality improvement, working across the entire production process. Following the global financial crisis of 2008 (the Lehman Brothers collapse), I became engaged in supporting the creation of new industries through collaboration between industry, academia, and government. Motivated by the desire to revitalize the local economy, I joined the Nagoya City Hall in 2015. In the Industry Promotion Division, I contributed to supporting innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2020, I began overseeing startup support programs. I launched the regional version of the J-Startup program, "J-Startup CENTRAL," and also established the "Central Japan Startup Ecosystem Consortium" as a regional startup ecosystem initiative. Starting in 2023, I was seconded to the Cabinet Office’s Office for Science, Technology, and Innovation Promotion, where I am responsible for promoting startup ecosystem cities and advancing public procurement initiatives involving startups.
