Shobu Oda, a graduate of Kansai University’s Faculty of Environmental and Urban Engineering, has founded and managed several IT companies, achieving multiple successful exits. With the vision of “Restoring Japan as No.1 in Space Development,” he established AstroX Inc. in 2022. The company aims to address Japan’s shortage of launch vehicles by developing small rockets using the innovative rockoon (balloon-based launch) system, contributing to more accessible and efficient space transportation.

AstroX is a private space startup with the vision of “Regaining Japan as No.1 in Space Development.” The company is developing orbital launch rockets using the Rockoon (balloon-launched rocket) method to solve one of Japan’s major challenges in space development — the shortage of satellite launch vehicles — and to contribute to the advancement of the nation’s space industry.
