After researching asteroid exploration robots at the University of Tokyo, joined Mitsui & Co. in 2015. Through its intrapreneurship program, launched space business. In 2023, founded Oceanic Constellations to connect two great frontiers: space and the ocean.

Oceanic Constellations is a Japan-based startup developing a “Oceanic Constellations” - large-scale swarms of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) deployed across the ocean to form an intelligent sensor network, much like satellite constellations in space. Our mission is to address critical challenges in Japan’s maritime domain. By 2027, we aim to deploy a vast fleet of USVs around Japan, enabling 24/7 year-round ocean monitoring through our autonomous “Oceanic Constellations” We have already had contracts with multiple government agencies, and we are the first in Japan to conduct continuous operations using domestically developed small USVs. As we build our total operation and mass-production capability, we are opening a new frontier in ocean intelligence and sustainable maritime innovation.
